May I introduce: Michal Pudelka

Photographer Interview

Here comes the Interview I did with Michal Pudelka. About a year ago I discovered his work, so my posts might not seem the most recent, but I assure you his work has rather gained in relevance.

Michal is 21 (I always get extremely jealous if younger people are so much further with their photography) and lives in Slovakia. His photos usually show group formations. Mainly beautiful girls in groups. And believe me it's not easy to shoot a group of girls all looking good at the same time. His photos remind me of the 80/90s teen movies (or simply of "the virgin suicide"). He uses a well known phenomenon that girls in a group always look better than each by them self. Interviewing him he talks about summer/winter, small things in life and alternatives to photography. The lovely girls from Jane Wayne happened to have done an interview as well which you can take a look at here.

INTERVIEW

What inspires you?
Simply everything, life is full of inspiration.

Do you think it's important to stay with in one style, or be as flexible as possible?
I think you can stay in one style and also be as flexible as possible, you always can keep some typical signature.

Digital or analogue?
Analogue, I’m in love with it.

Is the internet blessing or a curse for photographers in terms of photo credits of photo credits and being noticed?
For me internet works quite well, I guess without it I wouldn’t be noticed.

Do you have any favourite photographer ? Model?
I don’t have a concrete one favourite photographer, there are many great young talents rising. There are so many wonderful models.

Spring/summer or autumn/winter?
Autumn/winter most definitely, I really don’t like summer.

How did you start with the photography?
When I came to Paris for study, in my foundation year I somehow felt in love with taking pictures, first pictures of friends and than 6 months ago somehow fashion got involved.

What would you do if photography wasn't an option? (in terms of jobs or hobbies?
I also paint, make collages and videos, I also wanted to be a fashion designer since I was seven until I realized that photography is the best for me. I still design many of the clothes for my shootings.

sea/beach or mountains/forest?
There is nothing better than mystical mood of mountains and forests.

Any plans for the future?
Be better and better with my every shoot.
