Editorial Printed: "Tokyo shop crews"

INDIE magazine

During my trip to Japan last  year with INDIE magazine we already started shooting for this recent "Crew Love" issue out now! Since I spend a fortune on shopping in especially Tokyo, I had quiet a list of shops to visit. A mix of vintage, 90s sportswear and crazy pieces fit almost exactly my style. I also got to meet a few girls I remembered from being there last time, and they are by far the best dressed people I met during my whole trip. That brought me to the idea to photograph each shop crew to enhance the difference in style of each crew! As a group they look even more impressive, and I could have probably found even more but I'll just safe that for next time! I would definitely love to shoot the "Dog" crew in Harajuku as well as the "Hayatochiri" Crew in Koenji. But that's for the bucket list!

M.Y.O.B. Crew
That's Comi, Eno and Tanimi who I met thanks to Rico (remember her from Osaka?). They have their shop and label M.Y.O.B. NY (stands for "Mind Your Own Business") at the "Laforet Department Store". We ended up shooting on the rooftop of Laforet which for me was a shooting paradise. It also fits to the edgy kind of clothe from the Label. We ended up going out the same night, which resulted in being one of the best nights I had in Tokyo!

Pinnap Crew
This shop was one of the best ones I visited on my very first visit to Tokyo about three years ago. I just remembered loads of colourful vintage clothe and an equally cool shop owner who I followed on Instagram since then. But coming there, meeting all the other girls, I couldn't even decide who's style I liked most. They represent their shop so well that I want to basically buy everything they wear and style. The boss is called D.Asa and the girls are named (from right to left on the first picture): Risa, Maina and Chikahiruma! Maina is now also in charge of her own shop called "Banny"

Surku Cafe
This crew we basically ran into as they where chilling in front of their shop. For the editorial I really liked to have a boys crew that also represent men's wear and skater wear! I couldn't catch all their names, so if someone has intel on that I'm happy to add them!
