May I introduce: Ivania Carpio (LOVE AESTHETICS)

Blogger Interview

Ivania's Blogs "Love Aesthetics" is one of my absolute favorites. When traveling to Amsterdam I got to meet her in person. Over some tea and pancakes we had a nice chat about tattoos, kids and cities. Afterwards heading to the weekday event. She's got such a unique and stunning style and an incredible talent for coming up with new unusal DIYs. We didn't have that long, so I will hopefully get the chance to go back soon. In the meantime, I have an interview waiting for you and some photos, which I shot after our tea session.

How did you think of your blog name? It is about my obsession with the appearance of things; love aesthetics. That be a building, a person or a pair of shoes. Appearances aren't superficial, there is always a reason why things or people look the way they do.

For how long have you been blogging? Since 2008

Describe your style in three words? Basic, minimal and sometimes a bit strange.

How did it start? and how did things develop? My style and my blog are still developing. I've always experimented much with what I wore but now I think I've found clothes that reflect who I am and where I feel comfortable in. I've had an aversion against fast fashion and that drew me to basics and timeless pieces.

Do you earn money with your blog? Yes, I am very blessed that I do. Online or real shopping? designer exclusives; online shopping vintage; real shopping

If you could swop your closet with anyone dead or alive for a day, who would it be? Can I swap closets with a magazine's fashion closet? I'd go for Dazed & Confused

Do you work in a "real" job besides bloggin and if so what is it? Yes, I also work for Dutch label Land. Who is responsible for the photos? If I'm not in the picture myself I took the photo, and If I am in the picture my boyfriend took it.

Do you have any style icons? No, I admire the people who make the clothes and come up with the ideas rather than the ones who buy and wear them.

Any ALL TIME favorite in your closet? White T-shirt. 5 out of 10 days I'm wearing no print, crew neck T-shirts -- since I was very little. It is the epitome of basic and the ultimate timeless garment; You can not tell if a white T-shirt is from the 70s, the 90s or 2012. I think I'll still be wearing white T-shirts in 30 years.

How much money do you spend for shopping a month? (about) This is very very random. Sometimes I don't buy anything at all, and sometimes I buy one pair of shoes worth 400 euros. I don't buy much, but when I buy something it better be good.

What are you favorite designers or brands? Jonny Johansson, Linda Erkens, Alexander Wang Milkshakes or ice cream? favorite flavors? I eat vegan :) So I'd say fruit shake; apple, banana, almond milk, vanilla, maple syrup, cinnamon = Christmas in a cup!

What was your latest buy? A piece of leather

Top three items on your fashion wish list (can be not affordable too ;) That white boxy Acne jacket worth twice my rent. Sold-out-everywhere :( - Comme des Garcons metallic foil pouch - a pair of Alexander Wang Kori boots

Paris, London or New York? London!

What was the worst you ever wore? A 1980s snake skin-printed, silver jumpsuit with shoulder pads. Fashion Trends for next Season? Fashion No goes for next season? Loving the new over sized boxy silhouette no no goes, wear whatever you want
