Tokyo Diary Part I

Indie goes Japan

Shopping in Tokyo is the best. At least for me! Crazy cuts, weird patterns and most of all loads of colours! Unusal things you would not see normally. More like show pieces than actual things to wear. But that's where the fun begins! Especially in areas like Harajuku (Shibuya) or Koenji where there are loads of vintage shops, one after the other! I wrote down a few below in case you are planing to travel to Tokyo soon and want to check them out!

DOG (Harajuku)
B1F, 3-23-3 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku Tokyo
Lady Gaga, Rihanna and FKA Twigs shop here for obvious reason. Everything looks more like a costume or a stage outfit. They collect vintage clothe and the customize it and make it look simply awesome. Most things ( I have to admit) might not be for daily use, but that's exactly what makes them so special!

PINNAP (Harajuku)
〒150-0001 Tokyo, Shibuya, Jingumae, 3 Chome−26-10
Vintage Fila, Adidas, Nike, Reebok, Hilfiger... all the 90s brands that I love in one little shop! But the absolute highlight here are that all the people working there are pure style inspiration. Probably the most fashionable squad in Tokyo!

KIKI2 (Koenji)
2-21-11 1F Koenji Minami, Suginami-ku, Tokyo
Tokyo can be extreme and so is it's fashion. KIKI2 is a mix of schoolgirl dreams, clueless and a lot of fluffy toys and nightgowns. Kawaii would probably be the right term. It can be a little overwhelming but if you have the time there might be some treasures!

Hayatochiri (Koenji)
3-4-13 Kita-Koenji, Suginami-ku, Tokyo
This is the most artistic shop of all of them. Similar to DOG all the pieces are customized and the shop owner himself designs the most amazing caps and hats. The shop itself is super small but has a lot of events like pop up galleries close by!

have fun shopping, or just "screen shopping" if Tokyo is a litle out of reach for now! I'll show you what I actually bought in an outfit post soon! Everything Kira and I wear in the photos below is from the Japanese brand "little sunny bite"
